The Department of Chemical Pathology is one of the secsions under the Department of Pathology. It covers a major area in the laboratory service, providing it's services to the in-patients, out-patients, and regional hospitals. The department conducts about 3000 - 4000 biochemical tests and 500 immunoassay tests per day.
The department is headed by Consultant Chemical Pathologist Dr. B K T P Dayanath since 2016. The Chemical Pathology Team includes Senior Registrars, Registrars, PG Trainees, and Medical Officers, and well trained Medical Laboratory Technologists.
